New Mexico Community Capital (NMCC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 2004. We serve Native communities by focusing on mentoring and technical assistance to advance the next generation of Native American entrepreneurs, assist small business owners, and support families and individuals through financial literacy and digital literacy programs and hands-on training. All donations to NMCC are used to further this work through continued programs, both on and off tribal lands and virtually. Your donations also help support our operational costs. All contributions to NMCC are tax-deductible.

Native Entrepreneur in Residence (NEIR):  

NEIR’s accelerator/incubator program is a six-month intensive entrepreneurship program with one-to-one guided mentorship, provided in a culturally appropriate, supportive place for entrepreneurs to gain tools for success and leadership. The program has had 46 graduates from 27 different tribes and Pueblos. Their companies have created 265 new jobs, with 70% filled by Native Americans. See a list of our graduates here.

Financial Literacy and Business Basics (FBB): 

FBB builds a solid foundation to form and grow business ideas with a household financial plan for success. Since 2018, NMCC has trained 100+ households in partnership with the Pueblos of Santa Clara, Laguna and Santa Ana. We’ve also taken this program to the Zuni ARTZ Cooperative and the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. In 2020, we also expanded our reach to serve tribal members in Michigan. Much gratitude to the Kellogg Foundation, Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, and Tamalpais Trust for making this possible.

Digital Media and Marketing Basics:

Our newest program is the result of the urgent need witnessed among Native entrepreneurs during this time of COVID-19. Many Native entrepreneurs have struggled, trying to get their business online after spending their whole lives at in-person shows, powwows, and events.

The Digital Media & Marketing Basics program is designed to build a solid foundation to grow digital media skills and build a personal marketing plan for success. Participants learn the tools to effectively conceptualize, plan and implement their marketing goals and media ideas through hands-on learning experiences with a community of peers and mentors.
